Seamlessly finish your project: invisible fasten off
|
|
Fastening off is done when you’ve reached the end of (a part of) your crochet work. The basic principle of fastening off is simple, but did you know you can also make the beginning and end of the round invisible? And it’s easier than you might think!
Normally you end a row with a slip stitch, then you cut your yarn, fully pull through and weave the end on the back.
For an invisible finish you do not end with a slip stitch. You do cut your yarn as you usually would. Then you use a specific method to weave the end.
You can also watch the video at the end of this blog. This is how to finish your row for a seamless ending:
Somtimes it better to skip one stitch and then insert in the second stitch of the row. This means you insert in the second stitch instead of the first (step 5). You do go back to the last stitch as of the row to finish, as described (step 6).
This can vary per pattern what will look best, but you'll often use it when the first stitch of the row is a chain 3, for example. By skipping that chain 3 and using the next stitch, the finish will look better.
