*4 dc in ch-space, ch 2, skip dc, dc in next ch-space, ch 3, dc in next ch-space, ch 2, 4 dc in ch-space, ch 1.*
Repeat instructions between * until the end of the round, after the last ch close with a sl st in the join dc or the 3rd ch.

*In dc: [2 dc, 1 tr, ch 2, 1 tr, 2 dc], ch 2, dc in ch-space, ch 2, repeat [...].*
Repeat instructions between * until the end of the round. After the last ch 2, close with a sl st in the first dc or the 3rd ch.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Cut 12 pieces of yarn to temporarily tie the mandala to the hoop. Tie the mandala to the hoop at the ch-spaces between the treble crochets.
Make a slip knot on your hook and work 1 sc around the hoop. Then work 3 more sc around the hoop.
Carefully cut the first tie. Work 1 sc around the hoop + through the ch-space. *14 sc around hoop, 1 sc around hoop + through ch-space.*
You will end with 10 more sc around the hoop. Do not join with a sl st. Fasten off this way: cut the yarn (leaving enough to weave in) and pull it through completely. Use a needle to pull the yarn through the 1st sc (front to back), then go back to the last sc and pull it through the back loop only (front to back). Tie a knot at the back of the work to secure the yarn, then weave in the end neatly.
